15th edition of the ‘Memory train’ program

In February 2019, young people from Italy visited The Museum and Memorial Site in Bełżec as a part of the ‘Memory train’ program.

The idea of the ‘Memory train’ developed in 2004 as a need to reflect on social and civil reality, to react to wars and conflicts through active education. ‘Memory train’ is above all an educational and cultural journey, a unique experience and proof of active citizenship.

Reflections of the participants of the 15th edition of the ‘Memory train’ program after listening to a lecture on the history of the death camp in Bełżec:

We came here to commemorate the Jewish victims of the camp. In my opinion, this place is full of emotions and sadness. I regret the victims who did not understand the reasons for their persecution and death.

Alessandra

I come from Italy, Genoa, I am on the longest journey in my life. Bełżec.... is a place that must to be seen to try to understand what the Holocaust was.
