The last stage of renovating roads, pathways, and car parks has already finished at the State Museum at Majdanek. These works were a key part of the programme of modernizing the institution started in 2007.

The works covered routes and pedestrian ways on the grounds of the Museum, adjusting them to the present standards and needs of disabled people. Apart from that, as part of the project of a historical trail “Konzentratioznslager Lublin 1941-1944”, new pavements were built running near important places related with the camp existence. Along the trail, plaques were erected with historical comments. This year the works have been carried out in the section of the road and pavements leading from the intersection near barracks no. 38 to the Mausoleum. Visiting plan with the plaques of the historicaltrail The renovation works have significantly improved the infrastructure of the Museum, making it easier for the visitors to access historical buildings situated in the area of over 90 hectares, and organizing traffic on the Museum grounds. In the years 2008-2013, we have modernized over 26,600 m² of roads, pathways and car parks, 8000 m² of which have been repaired this year. The investment amounted to 3 million zlotys.
