Artifacts as symbols and memory carriers – classes

View pictures

Nearly 40 students of the Economics and Catering School Complex in Tarnów took part in classes entitled “We Were All Just Numbers… Camp Relics and Prisoner Community of the Former Concentration Camp at Majdanek.”

Preserved objects belonging to the prisoners depicted various aspects of the camp existence – not only violence, illnesses and humiliation, but also resistance and fight for dignity. The programme of the classes consisted of a multimedia presentation combined with a lecture devoted to the history of the Majdanek camp and its prisoners. The young people were also guided through the museum exhibition. The central theme of the visit included issues related to the fates of female prisoners of KL Lublin.
