On March 5th and 6th, ceremonies marking the European Day of the Righteous took place at the Museum and Memorial Site in Bełżec.

On March 5th, nearly one hundred students listened to a broadcast written by Monika Lach, a teacher at Primary School No. 1 in Przemyśl. The radio play tells the story of Helena Podgórska, a Righteous Among the Nations from Przemyśl, who together with her sister Stefania hid thirteen Jews during the German occupation.

The participants watched a movie with Edward Burzmiński - son of Stefania and Maximilian Diamant, who was saved by her. He told how the story of his parents influenced his worldview, shaped the values he believes in and how he perceives other people. Then the young people got to know the profiles of the Righteous Among the Nations from Bełżec.

On March 6th, students from the Primary School No. 1 of Henryk Sienkiewicz in Przemyśl, just like last year, presented in the form of a kamishibai theatre the story of the Righteous Among the Nations from Przemyśl - this time it was the story of Helena Podgórska.

On both the first and second day, candles were lit and flowers were laid in Nisza Ohel in tribute to the camp victims. The young people visited the memorial site and the museum exhibition with a guide.

Nearly 200 students from the Cieszanów Primary School, the Primary School in Kaczórki, the Primary School No. 1 in Przemyśl, the Primary School in Szewnia Górna, the Primary School No. 8 in Zamość, and the School Complex in Krasnobród participated in the ceremony.
