About 100 students of the Technical High School of Building and Surveying in Lublin took part in educational classes including a lecture on the history of the concentration camp at Majdanek. The issue of dislocations from the Zamość Region was especially stressed. Stanisława Kruszewska – a former prisoner of Majdanek, told about them based on her own experience.
The history of the former camp was illustrated with pictures of relics related to various aspects of the camp existence and photographs of former prisoners, including of the Wilczak family, form whom Stanisława comes from. The family had lived in Dereźnia Solska, a small village in the Zamość Region, before the war. At the beginning of July 1943, the village was dislocated due to an action carried out there. 78 people had to leave their village, including Stanisława’s parents – Jan and Katarzyna Wilczak, and five children – Julia, Stanisława, Jan, Krystyna, and Franciszek. The displaced were sent to the transitory camp in Zwierzyniec and then to Majdanek camp, where the Wilczak family spent about four weeks.
