Employees of the Education Department of the State Museum at Majdanek prepared some educational classes for students of Lublin schools as part of the Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. It falls on 19 April, at the anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

Students from secondary schools nos. 9 and 23 in Lublin took part in a project called “A biographical stroll with Halina Birenbaum” that made them familiar with experiences of the former inmate of some German concentration camps. They watched a documentary entitled “Hope Is the Last to Die” devoted to the fates of the Jewess who survived Holocaust. The students worked on various topics related with Halina Birenbaum’s stay in the Majdanek concentration camp and were guided through the grounds of the former camp. Apart from that about 70 students of the Lower Secondary School No. 3 in Lublin listened to a lecture combined with a multimedia presentation “From the Warsaw Ghetto to Majdanek.”
