Educational classes for inmates in prisons in the Lublin region
The Museum and Memorial Site in Belzec carried out a series of five meetings with inmates in penitentiaries and detention centers in the Lublin Province this fall.
The lectures were followed by the presentation of a temporary exhibition entitled. "The German Extermination Camp in Belzec. History and relics." A total of about 750 inmates were acquainted with the contents of the exhibition, while about 140 people took part in lectures addressing issues related to Operation Reinhardt and introducing the history of the Belzec death camp for Jews.
The premise of the joint program of the Museum and the Prison Service is to shape appropriate moral and social attitudes by teaching about the crimes of World War II, including the history of the German extermination camps of Operation Reinhard.
