Educational workshops at the School Complex in Łukawica
Marking the 13th anniversary of the opening of the Museum – Memorial Site in Bełżec (June 3, 2004), the students of the School Complex in Łukawica took part in the educational workshops.
During the workshops, the youth got acquainted with the accounts by the survived prisoners of the death camp in Bełżec – Chaim Hirschman and Rudolf Reder, as well as with the memoirs of witnesses who had lived in Bełżec during the occupation.
The main goal of the workshops was to present the dimension of humanity in times of war. The students used various interactive methods in order to try to understand the tragedy of people living during the war. A meaningful summary of the workshops can be a sentence that was said by one of the participants: ‘I cannot even imagine how those people could live in fear and constantly being humiliated…’
