Girl scouts cleaned the memorial to Roma in Bełżec
On 18 August, a group of girls scouts cleaned the memorial to Roma and Sinti who died or were murdered in the labour camp in Bełżec in 1940. They took also part in educational classes organized by the Museum - Memorial Site in Bełżec.
Wanderers-members of the methodology training course “Rojsty” organised by the Mazovian Girl Guide of the Scouting Association of the Republic of Poland took part in the works at the memorial. Trainees are girl scouts from all Poland which are preparing for performing a function of a “head of a squad.” The course lasted from 16 to 27 August 2017 and was carried out in a form of wandering. Girl scouts travelled by bicycles from Siedliska to Kraśnik and their first stop was Bełżec.
To the educational part of the course prepared by the Museum – Memorial Site in Bełżec belong a shortened lecture about the labour camp and a guided tour through the historical exposition and memorial site.
