Historical lectures for inmates of the Penitentiary Facility in Zamość
As part of cooperation between the Museum and Memorial Site in Bełżec and the Penitentiary Facility in Zamość, on the 17th of May first historical lecture for prisoners were held. The aim of joint programme of museum workers and prison service is to form proper moral and social attitude through teaching the history of Nazi German death camps.
Classes took place in the closed facility at Okrzei Street and in the external department at Hrubieszowska Street. The topics of the meetings were related to the extermination of Jews in the General Government and the history of the death camp in Bełżec. 75 prisoners benefited from the classes.
Historical lectures made the participants ask many questions concerning the past and a reflection in respect of contemporary times.
