"Holocaust Testimonies" - flattened mug
Flattened mug
While I was waiting for the passenger train, I witnessed the arrival of a freight train at the station. I saw a huge number of cattle wagons with people sitting in them. I saw people looking out of the wagons through small openings in the walls. These people looked very badly, they were wicked, terribly tired. They pulled out the metal cups through the holes, asking for water. Despite the greatest willingness, it was impossible to approach these wagons as they were guarded by armed German soldiers who, when the train stopped, went out onto the tracks and made sure that none of the people staying at the Bełżec railway station approached the wagons.
