The Jews came from all over, and only Jews. There was never any other transport. Bełżec served exclusively for killing Jews. The Jews were unloaded from the freight cars by the Gestapo, askars and “Zugsführers”; a few steps further on, in the yard, there were also Jewish workers present for the disrobing, and they asked in a whisper, “Where are you from?” They were answered in whispers: from Lwów, from Cracow, from Zamość, from Wieliczka, from Jasło, from Tarnów, and so on.
