I remember

We are presenting an unusual film about a special place – its past and present, the tragic fate of the German concentration camp and the obligations of the museum created on its territory to the next generations.

In 2019, 75 years have passed since the liquidation of KL Lublin and the establishment of the State Museum at Majdanek. The history of this place is created by the experiences of people who died tragically, but also those who survived and give their testimonies of what happened here. It is also the activity of many museum workers who have been cultivating and sharing this heritage for several decades.

The mission of the State Museum at Majdanek is to keep the memory of the places in our care. Everyday activities of employees consist in commemorating the victims, protecting the preserved objects and documenting the history of the German concentration camp at Majdanek, as well as the German death camps in Bełżec and Sobibór. A painful and difficult history, which is a warning to us all. Our responsibility is to pass it on to next generations.
