On 15 April 2024, the inaugural session of the Council of the State Museum at Majdanek took place. Appointed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for the 2024–2028 term of office, a new Council has a task to assess the Museum activities and approve its plans.

The session began with the presentation of nominations to members of the Museum Council. Among them there are:

5) Władysław Marek Kunicki-Goldfinger;

9) dr Michał Trębacz;
10) Jadwiga Wakulska;
11) prof. dr hab. Rafał Wnuk;
12) Magdalena Zaręba-Opalińska;
13) dr hab. Anna Ziębińska-Witek;
14) prof. dr hab. Andrzej Żbikowski.

The Council members elected the chairperson, in the person of Andrzej Żbikowski.
