The registration for the international academic conference entitled Operation “Reinhardt” and the Destruction of Polish Jews has just begun.

The event is to take place on 27-29 November at the POLIN Museum. It will be an opportunity to present the results of historians' work concerning the extermination of Polish Jews as a part of the German operation “Reinhardt” on the 80th anniversary of this gruesome action. In the opening lecture, Professor Dieter Pohl of Alpen-Adria Universität will share the latest results of research on “Einsatz Reinhardt”.

The conference's particular days will address issues such as:
motives and actions of the German perpetrators and their collaborators, the situation of Jews on the eve of operation “Reinhardt”, the actions of the German auxiliary formations, the attitudes and reactions of Jews in the face of the Holocaust, or the new methodological approach to the Holocaust studies.

The event is organised by the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in cooperation with, among others, the State Museum at Majdanek.
