International Holocaust Remembrance Day
Like in previous years, Museum and Memorial Site in Bełżec joins to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Due to the situation caused by COVID-19, we have planned online activities for the day.
The International Holocaust Remembrance Day was established in 2005 by the UN General Assembly to commemorate victims of Jewish origin murdered during the II World War by the German Nazis and is celebrated on the 27th of January.
On 27 January, a short film entitled Wszyscy zginęli ale nic nie ginie. Pamiętamy! (All of them perished but nothing was lost. We remember!) commemorating the victims of the Nazi German death camp in Bełżec will be presented on the Museum's Facebook profile and YouTube channel. At 10 a.m., Museum employees will pay tribute to the victims by laying flowers and lighting candles.
For the third time, the Museum joins the commemoration of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day in the Lublin region which will last from 25 to 29 January.
