On 5-6 July 2016 Museum–Memorial Site in Bełżec and the State Museum at Majdanek hosted a group of historians, teachers, educators and employees of universities from different countries – the participants of the International Summer Academy "Auschwitz – History, Memory and Education" organized by the The International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust.

The participants of the second stage of the international educational seminar visited the Museum–Memorial Site in Bełżec on July 5. The seminarians came from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Israel, Norway and Italy. The study visit was carried out in a broader perspective: it concerned not only the history of the German death camp at Bełżec, but also the origin and symbolism of the memorial foundation and activities, especially educational museum.

On July 6 the seminarians visited Majdanek, where they listened to a lecture about the history of the Museum, they watched a documentary film devoted to the history of KL Lublin, became acquainted with the resources of the Museum Archives and visited the museum exhibition.
