On 21 April Toshiko Ito, the representative of the Japanese organization IPIL-IPIL NO KAI, visited the State Museum at Majdanek. In 2004, during the 60th anniversary of the liquidation of the concentration camp at Majdanek, she and a group of volunteers planted the Japanese cherry on the Museum grounds.

IPIL-IPIL NO KAI is a Japanese organization formed by volunteering women. Their mission is to advocate peace. The peace is symbolized by the Japanese cherries which are planted by volunteers all over the world. During this year’s visit to Majdanek, Toshiko Ito made a donation to the Museum.
