The State Museum at Majdanek invites to the promotion of the book issued to mark the 70th anniversary of action “Erntefest.” It is entitled „Krwawa środa. 3 listopada 1943 w pamięci świadków” [Bloody Wednesday. November 3, 1943, in the Memory of the Witnesses], selected and edited by Beata Siwek-Ciupak and Kamila Czuryszkiewicz. The promotion will be held in the Łopaciński Voivodship Libraryon November 7 at 5 p.m.

The book is an anthology of memoirs concerning the most tragic execution by firing squad in the history of concentration camps, resulting in death of about 18,000 Jews. The publication contains of 29 accounts by witnesses and survivors that are preceded with a short introduction. Download the introduction for more details
