Observances of the 70th anniversary of the State Museum at Majdanek are held in November. On this occasion, the institution has published a book entitled “70 Years of the State Museum at Majdanek.” Apart from that the 26th issue of “Zeszyty Majdanka” including an article on the Museum’s exhibitions to date will soon appear in print.

“70 Years of the State Museum at Majdanek” is the name of the temporary exhibition catalogue prepared by Danuta Olesiuk and Anna Wójcik. It encompasses 80 photographs, both archival and contemporary. They illustrate the changes in the Museum design, the main domains of its activity and the most important events over its 70 year history. The foreword to the publication was provided by the director of the State Museum at Majdanek, Tomasz Kranz (download here). The anniversary of the Museum gave an opportunity to analyse its exhibition activity for 70 years. The article of Krzysztof Banach devoted to this topic will be issued in print in the newest “Zeszyty Majdanka” [Majdanek Notebooks] volume. The online edition has already been published today (download here). Both anniversary publications can be purchased during the promotion of the 26th volume of “Zeszyty Majdanka.” It will take place on November 12th at 5 p.m. at the Catholic University of Lublin Library.
