On 70th anniversary of its establishing, the State Museum at Majdanek moves to the centre of Lublin. A photography exhibition devoted to the Museum’s activity has already been presented at Łokietek Square.

The exhibition includes 80 photographs, both archival and contemporary, presenting changes of the Museum’s landscape, the main aspects of its activity, as well as the most important events in the 70-year-old history of the first Museum worldwide commemorating victims of the Second World War. The photographs show, among other things, the building of the Monument to Struggle and Martyrdom, the visit of Charles, Prince of Wales at Majdanek, as well as the meeting of John Paul II with former prisoners of the camp during his visit in Lublin. The exhibition is divided into 5 cubes, presenting such topics as: education in Museum, scientific work, publications, collections management, exhibitions, and promotion. Photographs are accompanied by texts in Polish and English. The exhibitionwas held under a honorary patronage by the Mayor of Lublin City.
