Over 200 thousand visitors to the State Museum at Majdanek

Interest in the State Museum at Majdanek has increased among visitors. In 2015, the institution noted a record-breaking attendance – 207 893 people took advantage of the Museum’s offer. It is the highest rate since 1990.

The number of visitors from the country increased by a few thousand – they represented 60% of all visitors to the Museum (129 152 people). Most visitors from outside Poland came from Israel, the United States, Germany, Great Britain and Ukraine.

The increase in attendance results, among other things, from the great interest in the educational offerings, especially in the museum lessons (in 2015, the Museum provided about 40% more such lessons than in the year before) and in the free thematic tours of the grounds of the former concentration camp at Majdanek that enjoy unflagging popularity.

Also the number of visitors to the website of the State Museum at Majdanek has been systematically increasing for a few years. In 2015, the website was accessed over 610 thousand times.
