On November 25-26, students from theMagdeburg-Stendal University ofApplied Sciences took part in educational classes devoted to the German policy in the occupied Lublin District in 1939-1944. In the first part of the project, the participants visited the open-air exhibition at the State Museum at Majdanek and had a chance to independently deepen their knowledge about the history of the concentration camp in Lublin. They made use of historical studies and source materials, including accounts by former prisoners, biographies of the perpetrators, and archival records.

The main theme of the second day was the Nazi occupation and Germanization policy implemented by the Third Reich in the Zamość region between 1942 and 1943. This occupied area of Poland was subjected to the brutal displacement action, as it was earmarked for the German settlement area. The German students listened to a lecture devoted to the fates of displaced Polish children, visited the exhibition “The Displaced from the Zamość Region in the Majdanek Concentration Camp,” and met with Stanisława Kruszewska, a former Majdanek prisoner, who told about the fates of her family.
