On 26 October 2017, the ceremony commemorating Roma and Sinti, the victims of German Nazi labour camp that operated in 1940, took place in Bełżec.

The ceremony was organised by the Museum - Memorial Site in Bełżec. Its aim was to pay respect to the murdered at the monument situated near the mass grave of 1940.

Subsequently, the students from Bełżec and Elementary School No. 7 in Chełm took part in historical workshops in the building of the Rightous among the Nations Lower Secondary School in Bełżec. The workshops were run by Agnieszka Caban, the Roma activist and the head of the Museum for Intercultural Dialogue in Kielce. During the workshops the young inhabitants of the Lublin Voivodship, Poles and Roma, had an opportunity to get to know the values and common culture that unite both communities.
