On 26 October 2017, the ceremony commemorating Roma and Sinti, the victims of German Nazi labour camp that operated in 1940, took place in Bełżec.

The ceremony was organised by the Museum and Memorial Site in Bełżec. Its aim was to pay respect to the murdered at the monument situated near the mass grave of 1940.

Subsequently, invited guests and the students from elementary school in Bełżec listened to the lecture by Andrzej Grzymała-Kazłowski - the originator and founder of the Museum of Roma Culture in Warsaw, an outstanding gypsyologist, expert and lover of Roma culture. During the lecture entitled "Gypsies are travelling in many carriages... - the collection of the Museum of Roma Culture in Warsaw" he talked about ethnic Romani groups, the most important traditions and customs of the Roma and the extermination of Roma and Sinti.

The ceremony ended with a guided tour around the former German Nazi death camp in Bełżec.
