The European Day of the Righteous was established on 6 March to commemorate all those who stood up against totalitarianisms and crimes against humanity, who fought for life and dignity of other people.

Students of the 8th grade of the Elementary School in Belzec, during educational classes, learned about the profiles of people who, at the risk of their entire family's lives, decided to hide and help Jews.

The celebration of the European Day of the Righteous was a great opportunity to remind the youth about the residents of Belzec, Cecilia and Maciej Brogowski and Julia Pępiak, who were awarded the Medal of the Righteous Among the Nations for saving lives.
