The first seminar "History-Education-Memory"
On March 20, 2017, the first seminar "History-Education-Memory" took place in the Museum - Memorial Site in Bełżec.
The following lectures were held:
- dr hab. Adam Redzik (Warsaw University): Lwow Jews in 1939-1944;
- dr Adam Puławski (Institute of National Remembrance in Lublin): Polish The Polish Underground State and extermination of Jews;
- dr hab. Elżbieta Rączy (Institute of National Remembrance in Rzeszów): Selected examples of complicated relations between Poles and Jews;
- Michał Kalisz (Institute of National Remembrance in Rzeszów): Aid for Jews provided by Poles during German occupation in the Gorlice poviat;
- Tomasz Hanejko (Museum - Memorial Site in Bełżec): Shaping the landscape of memory on the grounds of the former German death camp in Bełżec.
The participants visited the exhibition and commemoration. They also paid homage to the camp victims by lighting candles in the Ohel Niche.
