Students from the State Police School in Hamburg visited a few museums and historical sites commemorating the victims of World War II and Nazi crimes. Their visit was related to the events from 76 years, when the Hamburg Reserve Police Battalion 101 started its monstrous activity in the Zamość region.

From July 1942 to November 1943, German policemen from this unit shot and deported to the death camps tens of thousands of Jewish children, women and men.

As part of social and historical education and to come to terms with the past of the policemen from Hamburg, the students discovered the tragic history on historical sites, including Józefów where the first mass shooting of Jews was held.

The programme included also visits to the museums - memorial sites at Majdanek and in Bełżec, as well as the Zamość Rotunda, and lectures on the history of Shoah in the Lublin region and on the Nazi policy of Germanization and colonization in the Zamość region. They met also with a witness to history – Stanisława Kruszewska, who, from her personal point of view, made them familiar with the war fates of her family.
