The Museum visited by the head of memorial site Villa ten Hompel

On July 25, the Museum played host to the head of memorial site Villa ten Hompel in Münster – Christoph Spieker. Following his meeting with the director of the State Museum at Majdanek Tomasz Kranz, during which future cooperation between booth institutions was discussed, Christoph Spieker were guided through the exhibition of the Museum at Majdanek and grounds of the former camp.

The Villa ten Hompel was named after its builder, the industrial merchant Rudolf ten Hompel, and was erected in 1928. During the Second World War it was a seat of the Uniformed Police, the so called Ordnungspolizei. Since 1999 it has been a cultural, historical and educational centre. It houses two permanent exhibitions devoted to responsibility of the German society for the Nazi past.
