The participants of the Voluntary Labour Corps from Tomaszów Lubelski visited the Memorial Site

On March 20th, the participants of the Voluntary Labour Corps from Tomaszów Lubelski took part in a work camp organised at the Museum and Memorial Site in Bełżec.

The visit included guided tours of the memorial site and a permanent exhibition at the Museum and Memorial Site in Bełżec. The participants learnt about the history of the Nazi German extermination camp and paid tribute to its victims, placing flowers and candles in the Ohel Niche.

The part of the work camp included also the clean-up works. The participants of the Voluntary Labour Corp cleaned up the branches from the south-east side of the memorial.

The presentation of artefacts found during the archaeological research on the former camp area in the years 1997-1999 was met with a great interest among young people. The participants were able to have a look at the everyday objects used by the victims of the extermination camp.
