We have a great pleasure to inform that the State Museum at Majdanek received the Paweł Konrad’s Laurel award. The publication Krwawa środa. 3 listopada 1943 w pamięci świadków [Bloody Wednesday. November 3, 1943 According to the Memories of Witnesses] edited by Beata Siwek-Ciupak and Kamila Czuryszkiewicz was awarded “The Book of the Year 2013” in the category Lublin - monograph.

The award ceremony was held on June 13, on the opening of the 8th Book Fair of Lublin. The competition was organised by the Hieronim Łopaciński Voivodeship Public Library and aimed at promoting the editorial achievements of Lublin region, in particular the publications concerning its history, cultural traditions and tourist values. It is already the second Paweł Konrad Laurel awarded to the State Museum at Majdanek. The publication Erntefest 3-4 listopada 1943 roku – zapomniany epizod Zagłady [Erntefest of November 3-4, 1943. The Forgotten Episode of the Holocaust] edited by Wojciech Lenarczyk and Dariusz Libionka was awarded “The Book of the Year 2009” in the same category.
