"The Traces of Operation 'Reinhardt' in Lublin" on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day
On the International Holocaust Remembrance Day we commemorate the 6,000,000 Jews murdered by the Nazi Germany during World War II. The number includes the victims of operation "Reinhardt" - the mass extermination of Jews in the General Government.
Lublin played a significant role in "Einsatz Reinhardt" – the genocidal operation implemented by the Third Reich. It was in Lublin where not only the numerous compounds of terror and forced labour, the looted property storehouses and transhipment stations were established, but also the primary SS offices, from where the German and Austrian Nazis planned and coordinated the mass extermination of Jews in the General Government. Our documentary – "The Traces of Operation 'Reinhardt' in Lublin" – describes the history of those tragic events.
On this significant day we share the movie with the broad, international audience with the intention of promoting the knowledge about the topography of the German-occupied Lublin, but most importantly, as an act of commemorating the victims - Jewish women, children, and men from Poland, Germany, Austria, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, Slovakia, Greece, the Netherlands, France, and other European countries.
