Visit of a delegation from the Jan Karski Institute for War Losses
On September 20, the Belzec Museum and Memorial Site was visited by a delegation from the Jan Karski Institute for War Losses.
Dr. Agnieszka Kasperek, Doctor of Humanities, First Deputy Director of the Jan Karski Institute for War Losses, and Chief Specialist of the Communication, Education, and Publishing Division, Dr Paweł Matwiejczuk, were on a study visit to the former German death camp in Bełżec on 20 September. The head of the institution, Mr. Tomasz Hanejko, guided the visitors around the area of the memorial site, which is a mass grave and at the same time a monumental establishment commemorating nearly 450,000 victims. The next item on the agenda was a visit to the permanent exhibition. The visit provided an opportunity to learn about Bełżec as a modern martyrological museum and to exchange experiences in the field of education about the Holocaust, the Second World War and its consequences.
