On May 26, the Museum - Memorial Site in Bełżec was visited by participants of the 37th Conference of the Polish-German Textbook Commission of UNESCO Historians and Geographers entitled ‘Second World War in historical education in Poland and Germany: knowledge, teaching methods and forms of presentation’, which took place in Zamość.

On April 19, 2018, the project ‘Żonkile’ [Daffodils] was fulfilled within the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which refers to the 75th anniversary of Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. This project was organized by Pedagogical Library of Zamość, division in Tomaszów Lubelski in collaboration with the Museum – Memorial Site in Bełżec. The students from the B. Głowacki School no. 1 in Tomaszów Lubelski participated in the project.

On March 16 in the Faculty of Humanities of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, we have prepared two open lectures on the 76th anniversary of the beginning of "Aktion Reinhardt." The event attracted huge audience which is a proof of big interest in this difficult part of history.

On 27 February the meeting of the Museum Board of the State Museum at Majdanek took place. By unanimous vote, the board members adopted Museum’s activity report for 2017 as well as a work plan for the next year.

The number of people who visited the State Museum at Majdanek in the last five years increased by nearly 50%. In 2017, 239,149 people came to the institution.

The State Museum at Majdanek took part in the “Accessible Culture” programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for the third time. This year, 101 groups of primary and secondary school students from all over Poland participated in the free museum lessons organized by the Majdanek Museum and Memorial Site in Bełżec.

On 18 August, a group of girls scouts cleaned the memorial to Roma and Sinti who died or were murdered in the labour camp in Bełżec in 1940. They took also part in educational classes organized by the Museum - Memorial Site in Bełżec.

On 24–27 July 2017 the State Museum at Majdanek together with The House of the Wannsee Conference organized a workshop for teachers from Polish and German schools. The teachers were presented with methods and forms of out-of-school education used at the State Museum at Majdanek that allowed them for better preparation of their students for visits at the post-camp memorial sites and development of their own methods of work during regular lessons.
