"Holocaust Testimonies" - teaspoon

At 12 o’clock midday we assembled for our ‘meal’. We lined up; at the first window we were given a tin mug, at the next window we were given soup made of coarse grains, water and sometimes a small potato. Before our midday ‘meal’ and before our coffee in the evening, we were forced to listen to the orchestra and to sing. This was in order to drown out the cries of anguish from the gas chambers.
